I knew Jason for the past 5 years working closely with him at the university.  He is taken from us much to soon.  So much to offer,  so willing to contribute , so passionate about his work, and so talented. He definitely made an impact in everything he did at the university and left a lasting mark on the campus. I remember his first day at the university, so excited to be part of the campus and filled with thoughts and ideas on being a member of the university team . I will miss his drive and passion, his quick wit and and sense of humor,

I will always remember Jason’s positive energy he would bring to conversations and social interactions.   It seems like yesterday he was talking to me about his trip to London (when we were in elementary school).  May God bless Jason.

Jason and I embarked on a book contract together about SITE DESIGN, and I regularly asked him to be on my architecture student design juries.  Here is one text from years ago when he came to critique my students. My last correspondence with Jason was when I invited him to our home's Garden Tour - I thought he would be proud to see his garden design work after so many years. I will always consider him one of the best people I had the privilege of knowing in my life.  I will miss Jason dearly. Although my children never met him, we have already started to pray for his soul during our nightly rosaries. May our Lord bring comfort to his family and embrace his soul.

I met Jason at Bignell Watkins Hasser. From then he became a good friend - always making me laugh with his dry wit and sarcasm. I nicknamed him "Scrape" as in 'landscraper' and the nickname stuck throughout the years. Scrape was a walking encyclopedia and I regularly engaged him with actual projects as an architect, but also as a friend. He helped to recommend foliage for my garden, and helped to design the front and back with his usual particularities . He helped me craft a narrative against  a Planned Unit Development and Zoning Map Amendment occurring in my neighborhood, and even attended my testimony in court since I was the minority opposing it, prodding me along!

I am deeply saddened by Jason's passing. I have known Jason for 25 years and worked with him at BWH Architects and at UMD.  Jason has been a loyal friend and colleauge.  I will miss his sense of humor, his encyclopedic knowledge,  his independent spirit,  and will continue our tradition of singing 'papa was a rolling stone' every third of September for the remainder of my life.

I am shocked by Jason's death.  I have known Jason for 15 years.  He was the photographer at our wedding in Deep Creek, MD.  His pictures were perfect.  He exchanged his landscape recommendations in my yard for a home cooked meal.  Jason was quite the foodie.  I will miss him.  I still can not wrap my mind around the fact that Jason is gone.

My deepest condolences to Jason's mom and brother. Jason was unforgettable. He was a constant in my Chenango Forks experience, from grade school to high school. I still remember the card he made for my mom when my youngest sister Stephanie was born. Our whole class made cards, but Jason's was the most memorable by far. It opened to a crying baby shouting "WAHHH". I got a kick out of it. I think my mom did too. :) I also remember Jason's humorous commentary on some of the rides at Dorney Park, him pretending he was about to vomit as we swung back an forth, up and down. :) I'm grateful that we met up probably a decade ago when I was in Washington, DC. Jason was truly one of a kind. I'm grateful to have known him and called him a friend. He made our lives richer for knowing him.
