John "Jay" Henry Goupil, 70, of Binghamton, New York, passed away on May 12, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1955, John’s life was marked by steady presence, genuine connection, and the quiet ways a person can leave a lasting impression on those around him.
Jay will be remembered for the simple enjoyments that brought him comfort and joy—especially his love of bowling and the familiar pleasure of stopping for a milkshake at McDonalds. These everyday moments reflected a spirit that found meaning in routine, companionship, and the warmth of small traditions shared with others.
Over the years, Jay made countless friends, and his absence will be felt deeply. He will also be missed by the many providers and caregivers who knew him through the years and came to value the person he was—someone who inspired regard through sincerity, steadiness, and the relationships he built along the way.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, John & Audrey Goupil. He is survived by his sister, Andrea Redmon.
A Graveside Service will be held for Jay on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 1pm at the Chenango Valley Cemetery, 120 Nolan Road, Binghamton, NY 13901.
