John P. Turna

Chenango Bridge - John P. Turna, 85, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents John and Louisa Turna and his son John P. Turna III. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Margaret Turna; son & daughter-in-law Michael & LeAnne Turna; grandchildren Michael and Sarah Turna; sisters Mary Malcolm and Betty Laudato; brother-in-law Dominick & Joyce York; sister-in-law June DeVivo and many nieces and nephews. John graduated from Maritime College, served in the Merchant Marines in Africa and then went on to do his graduate work at Ohio State. He retired from Chenango Forks School District after 32 years as a Math teacher. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors including hunting and fishing and he also enjoyed any card game. He loved spending time with his family who will dearly miss him.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday June 5, 2018 at 10am at the St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Monday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers kindly consider memorial contributions in John's name to the John P.
