Joseph G. Surakus, 96, of Binghamton was embraced in the arms of Jesus Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was predeceased by his loving wife Esther Surakus of 63 years. He is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law Josephine Pernes, Chenango Bridge and Carol and Tony Sisson, SC; three wonderful grandchildren John, Thomas & Joseph and a great grandson Andrew. Joseph was a United States Navy Veteran and a longtime member of the former St. Christopher's Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his time fishing on Black Lake, woodworking, traveling and camping. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018, 11am at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10am until the time of service.
