Lola G. Foland, 101, a resident of Port Dickinson, New York, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Born May 4, 1925, Lola lived a long life marked by steadfast devotion to family, faithful service to country, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that bring people together.
A graduate of Binghamton North High School, Lola carried forward a strong sense of purpose throughout her life. She was a United States Navy Veteran, and her service reflected a quiet strength and enduring commitment that remained evident in the way she approached each season of life.
In her community, Lola was known for her reliability and willingness to serve, including her time as Treasurer of the Chenango Valley Senior Citizens Assn. She also made room for fun and fellowship—enjoying BINGO, scratch offs, and her trips to the casino. Lola loved traveling, and she took special pride in attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, showing up with steady encouragement and the kind of presence that is remembered long after the final whistle.
Above all, Lola loved spending time with her family, and that devotion formed the heart of her legacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Toby" Foland; her sister and brother-in-law, Dottie & Bob Knowles; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russ & Helen Foland; niece Patricia Knowles and her great grandson, Colton Moro.
