Lorraine A. Keefe

Binghamton: Lorraine Keefe, 83, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Nellie Kolanda; her husband, James Michael Keefe; and son, James Michael. She is survived by her children, Mary-Michael Surdey, Patrick (Donna) Keefe, Eileen (John) Hurley, Jeffrey (Joyce) Keefe, Daniel (Amy) Keefe; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Sharon Reed, of Naples, FL. Lorraine was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and later received her nursing degree from Binghamton State Hospital. She was very proud of her career as an RN, which spanned pediatrics to geriatrics, in both private and public settings. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas Street, Binghamton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, from 4-7 p.m. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ramanujan and Dr. Liu for their compassionate care of our mother and father for many years.
