Louis A. Stirpe

Louis Anthony Stirpe, 84, of Binghamton passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Masciarelli Stirpe; his son, Joseph and Courtney Stirpe, of Vestal; his grandsons, Joseph Thomas Stirpe and Zachary Louis Stirpe, of Vestal; his sister, Frances DeGregorio, of Endicott; his nieces, Josephine Singleton, and Cathy Saraceno, of Endicott; his nephews, Gregory Saraceno, of Binghamton; John Saraceno, of Homer, NY; and Anthony and Claudia DeGregorio, of Herndon, VA. Louis was born and grew up in Binghamton, he served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Binghamton and worked for IBM in Endicott until his retirement. Louis was also a member of a cast of players in a series of plays at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. A funeral mass will be offered at 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 37 Fayette St. Binghamton. Burial will take place privately at Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, on Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis' memory may be made to St. Joseph's Foundation, 973 James St. Syracuse, NY 13203.
