She is predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Frederick Dupre, her father and mother Ralph J. Howard and Ethel May McNeal Howard, three brothers: Ivan “Bud” Howard, Ralph J. Howard, and Clayton Howard, and four sisters: Sybil Howard Casey, Florence “Peg” Howard Dykeman Day, Dorothy Howard, and Audrey Howard Baldwin. She is survived by one brother, Melvin J. Howard, and 20 nieces and nephews along with countless great and great, great nieces and nephews.
Her first job was at a candy booth she built at the Intercounty League Ball Field at the Howard homestead where her father and brothers played and coached baseball. This was where she developed a love for sports and became a tomboy.
She was the youngest of 9 children and consequently found herself as the young aunt of 23 nieces and nephews who welcomed the love and attention she lavished on them. It was here she developed a love for kids and soon took a job at the Wyoming Conference Children's Home in Hillcrest where she was a dorm mother. Her love for kids and sports quickly made her dorm the one that all the kids wanted to be in.
Being a woman of faith, she was always involved at the church and her Christian values were passed on to the children in her care. Marsh lived at home with her father until he passed away in 1971. It was soon after this that she moved to Asheville, NC to work at the Eliada Children’s home and continued her love of working with kids. It was at Eliada that she met and married Fred Dupre. Soon after their marriage they moved to Winter Garden, FL where Fred taught at Calvary Christian School and their ministry to children continued to flourish. Their church ministry was always centered around the youth; always instructing, teaching, and challenging them to live a Christ honoring life.
Marsh never had children of her own, but she mothered more than most and Heaven only knows the number of young lives that she impacted positively by her ministry.
Later in life Marsh took a job at Walt Disney World where she worked in wardrobe and merchandise for over 15 years. Over the years, she signed in most of her large family to one of the Disney Parks for a free day or days when they visited Florida. This caused one of her Disney co-workers to remark that Marsh was rich in family.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating her life on April 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at Stanfordville Baptist Church, 23456 State Route 29, Hallstead, PA 18822. In lieu of flowers and because of her ministry to children, memorial gifts in her honor may be made to the Stanfordville Baptist Church gym renovation project.
