Maria G Lord

Maria Grace Lord, 68, went to be with the Lord, on February 14, 2025, peacefully in her home. She was born on April 12, 1956, in Mandanici, Sicily Italy as Grazia Maria Caminiti to the late Carmelo & Elena (Triolo) Caminiti. She is also predeceased by her sister Rita Caminiti.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved husband of 46 years, Austin Jacob Lord; their children Rita (Benson) Jewett, Justina (Douglas) Holcomb, Jacqueline (Patrick) Hennessy, Connie-Marie (Frank) Simser and Austin (Megan) Lord; grandchildren Olivia, C, Gabriella & Rodney Jewett, Deanna & Elena Holcomb, Jonathan & Maia Hennessy, Caterina & Sofia Simser and Finnley Lord; her siblings Teresa (Richard) Bradley, Cathy Bolton, Carmene (Theresa) Caminiti and Vivian (Ed) Lacy; 9 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.

She was a cherished member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. Over the years she volunteered as a Catechist sharing her faith, as well as being a devoted Eucharist Minister. She also volunteered throughout her life in many organizations in our community. Her careers Include manufacturing, a hair stylist, certified childcare provider, home health aide and she was a beloved teacher’s aide for Chenango Forks Central School District and Broome Tioga Boces.

A loving daughter, wife, mother, Nonna, sister, aunt and friend; Maria’s love for her family was second to none. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, gardening and picking wildflowers. She rescued many animals in need and cherished her time with her puppies. Her generosity, fun-loving spirit and kind smile will be a memory we cherish and carry with us forever.

The family will receive friends at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 4-6pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered from St. Mary of the Assumption Church, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
