Martin W. "Marty" Canny

Martin William Canny (Marty), born in Binghamton, NY, 67 years old, died February 15, 2022, at Wilson Hospital after an on-going illness. Marty is predeceased by his parents, William F. and Rose P. Canny, brother Leo A. Canny and infant brother Mark Canny.

Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Mary T. (Creegan) Canny, Chenango Forks, NY., and his children whom he adored, Lisa Marie and Puneet Chadha (granddaughters Sonia and Leela), Norwalk, CT, and William Martin and Joleene Canny (grandson Tanner), Binghamton, NY, and his extended family whom he considered his children, Nicholas Scherer (grandchildren Emma, Kathleen, Robert, Kyle, and Phoebe) and Celina Kowalczyk

and Andrea and Mark Hoag (grandchildren Jason, Christopher, Brianna). He is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Thomas Canny and Diane Murray, Binghamton, NY, Jerome and Noreen Canny, Binghamton, NY, Mary and Wynne Black, New Port Richey, FL and his nieces and nephew Marlaina and Monica, Nicole, Katherine and Sarah

(Zachary), and Alexis and Rocco, as well as grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Marty was a U.S. Army Veteran who enjoyed a country-life of fishing and raising a variety of animals on his farm. He was a proud developer of a patent, but his greatest pride and love was found in his children, grandchildren and celebrating family. The Family will receive friends at the James V. Demarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 4-6pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 9:30am.
