Windsor, NY - Mary Emily Vint went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 11, 2018. She was born on March 17, 1926 to Richard and Lillian Patton. She lived 92 wonderful years! Emily was predeceased by her husband, and best friend of 51 years Wm W Vint and her two brothers and sisters. Emily is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Allen, son in law, Wayne Allen, son, W Scott Vint, grandchildren: Curtis Allen, Carly Mooney, (Seth Gottesman), Julia Vint, and great grand daughter, Autumn Mooney. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, extended family members, and her best friend Betty Rhodes.
Emily was the matriarch of the family and extended family. She loved everyone with her heart and soul and her faith was apparent in all she did. She was definitely a service oriented individual. She was the best Mom, Granny, and Aunt ever! Emily knew from when she was a little girl that she wanted to become a registered nurse. She loved nursing and was one of the best! She practiced at the Philadelphia Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Data's offices in Windsor, NY, and Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA. She also helped her husband Bill run Vint's Dept. Store for 20 years. Emily was an avid sports and dance fan and could whoop and holler with the best of them! She was a fabulous seamstress and quilter. She was past Grand Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star. In retirement years she studied to become a lay minister and loved preaching God's word. Emily was past president of the Helen Scott Circle and a lifetime member of the Windsor Presbyterian Church. Her church family was an important part of her life. Even when she and Bill moved to Florida and they became members of the Inverness Presbyterian Church, she still supported her home church.
Emily and Bill moved into the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, PA in March 2004 and made this their home. When her funds became low the Tree of Life supported her. When she needed assisted living, it was provided. When she needed total care, and ultimately, hospice care, it was lovingly provided. The clergy, providers, and staff at MVE were awesome!
There will be a Memorial Service at the Windsor Presbyterian Church on Sunday, August 26th @ 1:00pm with Mike Clare officiating. Light refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mary Emily Vint to the Masonic Villages of PA c/o Office of Gift Planning One Masonic Dr Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
