Nellie J. Hickok, 87 of Binghamton. On Thursday, November 28, mom left to celebrate Thanksgiving with her Lord and loved ones that predeceased her. She was reunited with her husband, Donald, parents, Harry and Nellie Sayer, brother, Harry Sayer, Jr., sister, Gertrude Reid, mother-in-law, Irene Hickok and many loving friends. She is survived by loving daughters, Dona Heiner, Las Vegas, NV and Penny Hickok, Binghamton, NY. Also loving sister, Gail Wilson; grandsons, Dustin and Jordan Engel; nephew, Joe Reid; and very dear friend, Joanne Pantalone who was like a 3rd daughter. Mom was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was a retiree from the once River Mede Manor Nursing Home where she had the distinction of being the first Nurse hired when they opened. She also had been very involved in activities with the Mental Health Association and won many awards and recognitions. Mom loved her flower garden and all the birds it attracted. She also loved her pets and all children. She was very active up into her early 80’s until her health began to decline. Her sense of humor however never did. She will be missed by many. Her wishes were for no calling hours or services. She will be buried with her husband at Vestal Hills. She has requested any memorial donations be made to the Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave, Binghamton, New York 13903 or Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, 47 Broad Ave., Binghamton, New York 13904.
