

Norman G. Thiel, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Thiel in 2005; parents, Frederick and Helen Thiel; one brother and two sisters. He is survived by the love of his life of 58 years, Angie (Fiato) Thiel, Binghamton; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tim Honnick, Endicott; grandchildren, Laurie and Jim Bendick, Endicott; Michele and John Rosko, Endicott; Michael and Rachel Thiel, Binghamton; daughter-in-law, Deb (Thiel) Stalker, Binghamton; great grandchildren, Zack and Colby Bendick and Taylor and Sophia Rosko; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Rose Thiel, Kennewick, WA; many nieces and nephews. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a retired employee of the Great American Corp, a member of the Johnson City Senior Citizen’s Center where he enjoyed all his pinochle friends and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He was an avid NY Giants and Boston Red Sox fan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Calling hours will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Church Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Norman’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
