

Patricia O'Dea, 85, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Good Shepherd-Fairview Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest O'Dea, Jr. on December 25, 1975. She is survived by her two sons, Ernest and Peggy O'Dea, and Brian O'Dea; four grandchildren, Erin O'Dea, Kelly O'Dea, Jeremy and Samantha Clark, and Elyse and Robert Clark-Wilbur; five great-grandchildren, Brittney, Chandler, Alecia and Dylon Clark, and Brady Wilbur; her sisters in law, Eleanor O'Dea, Mary and Joseph Murphy, Margaret Stackhouse, and Eleanor Erhart; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia received her nursing degree from the Binghamton City Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She worked as a private duty nurse for one family for several years, and then joined the nursing staff at Good Shepherd-Fairview Home where she worked for 15 years. In 1996, Patricia received a citation from Senator Libous celebrating her 50th year of nursing. Patricia's family wishes to sincerely thank the Good Shepherd family for the caring support given to their mother during her stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 25, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1263 Vestal Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory may be made to the restoration fund at St. John the Evangelist Church.
