She is survived by her son Christian (Jaime) Winfield; her daughter, Heather (Rick) Humphrey; grandchildren Lindsay (Erik) Rhinehart, Dylan Humphrey, Jordan Winfield, and Coleton Winfield; great-granddaughter Hannah Rhinehart; and her once husband and forever friend Don Winfield.
The family would especially like to honor Adam Clark, whose sassy humor, wit, and boundless compassion brought laughter and light to Mom’s final years. His friendship and care were her greatest comforts — and he will always be part of our family.
Born on October 20, 1944, Pat led a life filled with warmth, generosity, and a deep connection to her family and community. For over three decades, she worked at Binghamton University’s Bartle Library where she formed many lasting friendships. Pat embraced life’s simple joys—sharing stories with loved ones, solving puzzles, reading, and taking outdoor walks. She loved her rescued cat Camden and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Fenton and Johnson City Senior Centers.
Pat’s generosity was one of her most endearing qualities. She gave her time helping transport donations during the annual toys-for-tots drive for many years, and made generous contributions to causes like St. Jude’s and the BC Humane Society. Her love of travel took her to many destinations throughout the years. Among her favorites were Sedona, AZ and Ocean City, MD—places she shared with her family.
Patricia was predeceased by her sister Mary Rabert; brother Robert O. Allen Jr.; and nephew Robert O. Allen III.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Pat’s name to the Broome County Humane Society or Guthrie Hospice whose wonderful staff and support allowed Pat to remain in her home. A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 28th, 1:00pm at My Uncle’s Place, 120 East Service Rd, Binghamton, NY 13901.
