Binghamton - Paul A. Iversen, 85 passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 13, 2018. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Janice, his mother, Ethel, his father and brother. He is survived by his children, Clifford (Kathy), Corinne, Barbara (Robert), Douglas (Paula) and Lesa (Sean); 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Paul was born in Hancock, NY on July 11, 1933, graduated from Hancock Central Class of 1951 and Graduated from SUNY Delhi 1957. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1952-1954. He was employed by several local construction companies as a General Contractor for over 54 years. Paul was a basketball official and a member of board 49 for over 20 years. He was active in several softball teams in the local area and ended his sports career at age 74. Paul along with wife Janice, were active in the International Lions with Chenango Valley and Johnson City Lions Clubs. Paul was proud to have been active in District Lions, 20 years serving under 11 different Governors. Paul was the recipient of the Melvin Jones and the Robert J. Uplinger awards. Paul was a member of the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees. he enjoyed the Bible Study Group, Sunday School and sang in the choir. The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9-11 am with Funeral at 11 am. Burial will take place at 2pm at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park with full military honors. in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mercy House of Southern Tier or Hospice at Lourdes.
