He is survived by his parents Jimi and Candy Thomas; his siblings Jose, Tiffany, Jimia, Jerico, Jivi, Jimii, his nieces Marian and Royalty; his grandparents, Edna and Arnold Zollbrecht and several aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, community members, and numerous friends.
In his young life he held many achievements; he is a 7th grade student at Johnson City Middle School, he played basketball for the travel league, and church league. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Caveliers and was excited to meet his sports hero Lebron James. He became a fan of the Orangemen and took delight in having bench seats which aided him in advising them how to play! He was a guest at his school’s basketball teacher‘s tournament where he made the winning shot!
He loved to sing and wrote many Rap songs. He could be heard singing to others at the hospital, often at the top of his lungs! He was always concerned for another’s well-being and visited his peers to bring comfort, a smile, or a joke. He loved to show off his new bedroom designed by his teachers, and members of A Room to Heal.
He treasured his time with his family and made sure everyone shared in his experiences. He was ecstatic to attend the Harlem Globetrotters game with them. Recently he was able to travel with his family to Atlantic City where he swam in the ocean, and played games on the boardwalk.
He enjoyed going on rides with his brother Jose, and playing video games with his brother Jerico. He enjoyed all the basketball games he played with his brother Jimia, Jerico and neighborhood friends. He looked forward to being read to by his sister Tiffany and took delight in watching his nieces dance and sing. He had an especially close relationship with his mother-Candy, whom he referred to as his best friend. He loved spending time with his father-Jimi, and kept him abreast of all of the TV drama shows.
Phatar spent the last few months of his life at the Mercy House where he was loved by everyone who met him. He established a strong faith, and felt comforted in his environment. He was a kind soul who was wise beyond his years. He helped others to establish friendships. He was grateful for everyone’s outpouring of love, support and compassion.
