Ralph R. Hoyt Sr.

Ralph R. Hoyt, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023 in the Norwich Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Ralph is predeceased by his wife of 59 years Charlene (Charlie), parents Fred & Lillian, brother Anson, sisters Mini (Frank), Peggy (Doug) and son Jerry.

Ralph will be remembered by his sons Ralph (Helen), Edwin (Debra) and daughter-in-law Beth. Several grandchildren Scott, Nikki (Brad), Kaitlynn (Caleb) Poston, Jason Kitchen, Nicole (Charles) Hopkins, Jennifer (Dennis) Shaffer, Justin, Chris (Kelsie) Hoyt and Josh (Molly); four great grandchildren, James, Ashlyn & Triston Poston and Landon Shaffer.

He served in the United States Army for 3 years as an Army Engineer. He worked for NYS Highway DOT for 37 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for 60 years for the Ouaquaga Fire Company, serving as chief for many years.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11am-12pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 12pm. Burial will be in the Knox Cemetery, Ouaquaga, NY at the convenience of the family.
