her husband Curtis Mellen, and sister Olga McKane. He is survived by his loving family; children David (Laura), Bob (Nancy) and Rick McKane, and grandchildren Kyle and Joshua. He also leaves his brother Rodney (Audrey), many nieces, nephews and special friends. Dick graduated from Binghamton Central High and served in the US Army. He was employed by First City National Bank, later Chase Manhattan Bank, and became an executive vice president. He obtained an AS Degree in Business from Broome
Community College and was one of three honors graduates in his class at the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. A member of Ogden-Hillcrest UMC, Dick held positions of Chairman of the Board of Trustees and served on and led multiple committees over the course of 40 or more years. He was lay delegate to the UMC Annual Conference and held several positions with the annual conference. He also taught Sunday
school. He was very active with the Binghamton Kiwanis having been a member for over 35 years and was active in many organizations involving his sons. He enjoyed travel with his wife Barbara visiting much of the US and Canada. They were charter members of the Kattelville Seniors. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 30th from 10:30 – noon at the Ogden Hillcrest UMC. A funeral service will follow.
