Rita was a graduate of Binghamton North High and later devoted many years of steady, faithful work as a retired employee of Sears. Throughout her life, she carried herself with quiet dignity and a grounded strength that could be felt in the way she showed up for the everyday moments that matter most.
Those who knew Rita will remember the simple joys that filled her days: time spent reading—especially the Bible—settling in to watch her favorite TV shows, and the warmth she brought to others through baking and cooking. In her early years, she also embraced the open road, riding motorcycles with a spirit that spoke to her independence and resolve.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose & Isabele Salmini; and her brothers, Skip Salmini, Tom Salmini, and Paul Salmini.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Weber; her sons, John Fry (Lea) and Donald Fry; her grandchildren, Christine, Tasha, Roxanne, Donald, Jr. Jeffery and Joshua; several great grandchildren; her brother, James Salmini; her sister, Margaret Feiler; many nieces nephews and cousins and her special friend, Cheryl Moss.
A Celebration of Rita's Life will be held at a later date.
