He was born in Johnson City, NY on November 30,1935 to the late Victor and Stella Struck.
A graduate of Binghamton North High in 1953, Bob earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1957.
He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the ROTC program in 1957, with his military obligation spent in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.
He then spent 32 years as a Facility Electrical Engineer at IBM Owego before taking early retirement to enjoy his life and family.
Bob’s favorite pastime was trout fishing, and he is hopefully casting his line alongside his brother Don, who preceded him in death.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Mary Ann, children Cheryl (Michael) Norton, Alan, Matthew, and Marcie Struck, sisters Joyce Struck and Marilyn Peake, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was especially proud to be called Papa by his cherished grandsons Nicholas and Tyler Norton.
The family extends their deepest thanks to the nursing staff at Good Shepard Village at Endwell for their compassionate care of our stubborn Papa the last three years, and to the medical staff at UHS Wilson Hospital who guided us through the last few weeks.
Papa will be sorely missed by all who loved him, and is hopefully now resting his eyes comfortably with God.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 9-10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers kindly consider donations in Bob's name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
