Ruth A (Almy) Jump

Ruth A. (Almy) Jump, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Jump. The Lord brought her home to spend Valentine’s Day with the love of her life. She was also predeceased by her son, Alan. They now can enjoy eternal peace together.

She is survived by her children Jean Grant, Mary Walker, Robert & Diane Jump, Bill & Leigh Jump, Mark Jump, Paul & Georgia Jump, Ron Jump, John Jump, Tom Jump & Tania and Cathy & Chris Link; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters Joanne Mandic and Leona Booth and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth was born on October 26, 1926. She was raised in Port Dickinson and was one of ten children. She graduated from St. Paul’s High School. She spent some time working as a telephone operator. She will be remembered for raising a family that included 11 children. She was a stay at home mom that cooked, cleaned and was present every single day. She loved her family and always had gatherings which kept our family close for many years. Ruth was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She enjoyed camping at Aunt Kay’s Pond, summer vacations in Wildwood, NJ, crocheting and baking. We would like to thank the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home, for the care they provided and special thanks to Annie and Lori for going above and beyond for our mother.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10am. The burial will follow in the Chenango Valley Cemetery.
