She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Louise Wheeler and Wilfred Steward, and her stepfather, Col. Louis Spears. Sharon was a loving mother, wonderful wife, and a dedicated elementary school teacher, having taught in several different districts over a span of 40 years, finally retiring from the Whitney Point Central School district in 2009. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church, where she served as Sunday School Director, Vestry member and Warden. She is survived by her husband, Brian, and their two children, Tracy Schubert Smith (Jay), of Minneapolis, MN, and Jeremy Schubert (Allison), of Portland, OR, four grandchildren, Beatrice and Eleanor Schubert and Julian and Stella Smith, along with two brothers and two sisters, Fred Steward (Sherry) of Orlando, FL, Rick Spears, Nancy Lewis, and Sara Partee (Stan), all from Dallas, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to COVID concerns, final funeral arrangements are pending.
