Shirley E. Swingle

Shirley E. Swingle (95) formally of Hillcrest passed away peacefully at Riverview Manor Nursing Home on Friday, May 1, 2026. Shirley was predeceased by her parents and husband Louis, whom she missed dearly through the years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Mary. Born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania to Lois and Earl Davis and grew up in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Dunmore High School and Lackawanna Junior College. Through the years she worked at Scranton Buick (Scranton) and Family Farm Home Magazine (Binghamton). The family would like to thank Riverview for their compassionate and comforting care while Shirley was a resident there. The family would also like to thank Good Shepherd Fairview Home for all the care they provided while Shirley was a resident in their assisted living. Shirley was a woman of strong faith and was devoted to her church. Over the years she loved being outside tending her many rosebushes in her yard. She also loved to feed the birds through the fall and winter months. Per the family’s request the funeral service and burial in the Chenango Valley Cemetery will be private. The family’s request is that you treat somebody with kindness who needs a hand.
