

Susan E. Canfield of Windsor, NY cherished wife and sister passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 after a courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease. Susan was born in Endicott, NY on January 24, 1949 to Charles and Jane Loeffler. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and retired from NYSDOT in 2005 after 37 years of service. She was predeceased by her parents, her in-laws, and two sisters-in-law.
She leaves behind her husband and best friend of thirty-six years James Canfield. She is also survived by her brother Curtis Loeffler and wife Terrie, sister Judy Marcyan and husband Paul, brother-in-law Paul Canfield and wife Peris, and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was the epitome of a homemaker. She loved taking care of her home, spending time in her kitchen, hosting family get togethers, decorating for every holiday, and making vast amounts of Christmas cookies to give to friends and family. She was a devoted cat mom to Lily, Mimi, and Tuxedo. Susan also spent many years attending to the care and well-being of her parents during their later years.
Her family would like to express their sincere, heartfelt thanks to the many special staff members from Lourdes Home Care who came to the house each week for their unwavering care, support, guidance, and friendship over the past several years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, 1:00pm at the Wm. R. Chase Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until the time of service, with Pastor Scott Ferguson officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
