We regretfully announce the passing of Reverend Suzanne Bosco, 81, of Le Raysville, PA. She joined Jesus after a brief illness at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital on September 24, 2023. The care team at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital and Guthrie Skilled Nursing Facility, where Sue was a resident for several years, provided empathetic care, and Sue enjoyed heartfelt relationships with those who cared for her.
Sue was born to Oliver J. and Irene (Masse) LaCroix in Springfield, MA on April 7, 1942. She attended the University of Massachusetts, where she was a sorority sister of Alpha Chi Omega, graduating with a BA in English. She worked as a teacher and a librarian before attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and ultimately graduating from Boston University with a Master of Divinity. Sue went on to hold various pastoral roles in both the United Methodist Church and United Church of Christ in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York. Sue also worked as Chaplain and Counselor at Spofford Hall Substance Abuse Treatment Center (Spofford, NH) serving those struggling with drug addiction.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, William. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Charles A. Bosco and three children: Jason (Joan), Todd (Wendy) and Amber (David Price). In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren: Peyton Bosco, Dawson Bosco, and Michael Price.
In addition to spending time with her family, Sue’s hobbies included reading, caring for many pets that were like family, horseback riding, figure skating, and searching for antique treasures which led to the joy of self-employment in her retirement years.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at William R. Chase & Son Funeral Home at 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Monday, October 2, 2023. The family will receive visitors at 10:30 am with the Celebration Service at 11:30 am with a reception to follow. The service will be available via Facebook livestream.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that you honor Sue’s legacy of service to others with a donation to either Camp Hill United Methodist Church, 417 South 22nd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or New Life Ministries, 201 Hill Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
