Victoria J. Baker, born on July 1, 1945, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the age of 80. She fought a good fight battling cancer, ultimately leaving behind her daughters, Kitty L. Watson and Mary Jo Watson, as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is also survived by her siblings Florence Zeggert, Anna Andrews and Alfred Bryan, Sr.
Victoria was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Baker; her son, Robert S. Watson; her twin sister, Violet Heeman; her granddaughter, Jessica Kelly; and four siblings.
Throughout her career, Victoria worked at Endicott Johnson Shoes and Kmart. She was a woman of strong determination, never swayed when she set her mind to something. Her life was marked by resilience and growth, overcoming hardships with grace. She was described as the strongest and bravest woman, embodying the true meaning of her name, victorious.
Victoria had a deep love for pets, dancing, and enjoyed simple pleasures such as bologna, hotdogs, BBQs, birthdays, and dinners, especially when shared with her family. Her independence was a cherished aspect of her life.
Her legacy is one of strength and beauty, much like her favorite red rose, beautiful yet adorned with thorns. She was a symbol of growth and resilience, and she now rests in eternal life. Fly high, our angel, until we meet again. We love you.
A Graveside Service will be held in Vestal Hills Memorial Park on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11am. Followed by a Celebration of Victoria's Life from 2-4pm at the American Legion, 76 Main Street, Binghamton, NY.
