

Vivian A. Blowers, 67, of Whitney Point, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, Curtis and Lilas Russell; her husband, Ken Blowers; her brother, Charlie Russell; her sisters, Shirley Kidder and Nancy Oranckack; and her granddaughter, Carrie Elizabeth Reed. She is survived by her children, Rick Reed of Whitney Point, Joseph Reed of Petersburg, IL, and Dawn Higsby of Evansville, IN; many grandchildren including Eric Reed and Jesse Reed; also many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her sister, Betty Spear of Johnson City. Vivian was a longtime head of the Hospitality Committee at Community Bible Church in Binghamton. She had a great desire to minister those who were less fortunate and was dedicated to several charities including the Foster Grandparent program, Apalachin Youth Camp, and Kids Adventure Camp. Vivian was also a missionary to the Camp Verde Indian Reservation in Montezuma, AZ. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Vivian's family wishes to extend a special thank you to Vickie Carter for the dedicated care she gave to her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2nd, at Community Bible Church, 602 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY 13901 with Pastor M.R. McRary officiating. Burial will follow at Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, February 1st, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vivian's memory may be made to Community Bible Church.
