Wayne Harrington

Wayne L. Harrington of Binghamton, 69, was reunited with his beloved wife of 42 years, Margaret L. Harrington on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from the Wilson Memorial Hospital. In addition to his wife he was also predeceased by his parents, Alton & Madaline (Palmer) Harrington; brothers, Walt & Richie; sisters, Paulette & Sandra; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph E. & Barbara S. McDougal Sr.; brother-in-law, Ralph E. McDougal Jr.; also several beloved dogs through the years, Bear, Yogi, Montana and Hunter. Wayne is survived by his loving family: sons, Jeffrey (Angela) Harrington of Binghamton, Scott M. Harrington of Orlando, FL; grandson, Gavin; brother-in-law, Bill & Kathy Hanzlik; nieces, Lori, Lisa, Debbie & Ellie; nephews, Jerry, Kenny & Billy; great niece, Hannah; great nephews, Brian, Derek & Nick; many cousins and special friends. Wayne was a United States Marine Corps SGT. during the Viet Nam era. A member of the Chenango Street United Methodist Church, former employee of Azon Corp. for many years. Wayne was a master mechanic and welder all around handy man. He not only loved NASCAR but he was drag race car driver in his younger years and built stock cars. Wayne was also an avid NY Giants fan as well as he loved to hunt and fish. He has battled Multiple Sclerosis for twenty plus years and fought the good fight. Wayne was a devoted loving and proud father, grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed by many. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 5:00 PM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901, with Pastor Ben Shaw officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM.
