Yvonne M. Hoover

Yvone (Dunnier) (Patak) Hoover, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday June 23, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Grace Dunnier, her husband Paul Hoover, Sr., sons John and Kevin Patak and her grandchildren Christopher and Melinda.

She is survived by her only daughter and caretaker Cathy; her sons Paul (Shelly), Michael (Shannon), and Mark; daughter-in-law Valerie Patak; stepchildren Sally, Paul & Marie; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother Arthur (Barb) Dunnier and their children and the father of her children, John Patak.

Yvonne loved her children deeply. Everyone called her Ma. She loved having gatherings and her home was always open to everyone. She loved to laugh and dance to all her favorite songs, once she was on the dance floor you couldn’t get her off, she was the life of the party always.

She graduated from Binghamton High School and later worked for many years at Chenango Forks School, and her final retirement was from the Four County Library. Yvonne was an Auxiliary Member of the American Legion Post 1194. The family would like to give special thanks to all the people at Willow Point Nursing Home and Guthrie Hospice for all the love and care they have given to Yvonne.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 10-11am with a Funeral Service to follow. Burial will be in the Floral Park Cemetery.
