Alda M. Sullivan, of Port Jefferson, NY, a cherished and lifelong homemaker, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on November 29, 1927, in Mt. Vernon, NY, Alda lived a long and beautiful life rooted in love, family, and grace.
Beloved wife of the late Bert Sullivan, Alda was a devoted and loving mother to Michael, Joseph (Beth), Carol Beyda (late Steve), and John. She was the proud and doting grandmother of Mike, Adam, Justine, Jillian, and Taja, and the adored great-grandmother of ten—soon to be eleven—great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Alda’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and elegance. She poured her heart into raising her family and maintaining a warm, immaculate home where everyone felt welcome. A true lady in every sense, she took great pride in her role as a homemaker and was known for her impeccable attention to detail. Her green thumb brought beauty to every garden she touched, and she found happiness among her flowers.
Before Bert’s passing, the couple shared a deep bond and a love of dancing, filling their years together with laughter and music. Alda’s presence, warmth, and strength will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Infant Jesus Chapel at St. Charles, located at 200 Belle Terre Road, Port Jefferson, NY 11777.
