Alfred R. Piazza of Mount Sinai, NY, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 23, 1933, Alfred lived a full and accomplished life defined by his devotion to family, his professional excellence, and his love for travel and adventure.
He was the beloved brother of Catherine Burton and her husband Robert, and a loving uncle to Michelle Lamson and her husband Jarvis David, as well as Robert M. Burton and his wife Cherrill. He was a cherished great-uncle to Brett and Hannah Burton, who brought him great joy.
Alfred had a distinguished career as a line manager with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, where his expertise earned him the honor of being selected to lead a six-month mission to Puerto Rico to establish and oversee quality control operations—a testament to his leadership and dedication.
A true world traveler, Alfred’s journeys took him across the globe to Russia, Spain, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, and even around Cape Horn. He was passionate about skiing, tennis, ice skating, and especially enjoyed jogging and relaxing on the beach. Yet, above all, Alfred treasured his family most. Holidays and time spent together meant everything to him.
A visitation to celebrate Alfred’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, with a prayer service at 1:30 PM. Cremation will be private.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
