Carol L. Legrow

Carol Lillian LeGrow of South Setauket, NY, passed away on November 11, 2017, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Carol was the devoted wife of Albert LeGrow and loving mother to Nancy Elizabeth Chandler, Judith Carol Cronin and Scott Curtis Hargash. She enjoyed crafting, needlework, cooking, gardening, dancing, boating and her beloved cats, Noah and Blaze.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Carol was the beloved daughter and only child of Howard and Madeline Boeckler. Carol grew up in Ridgewood, Queens, and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1957.

In 1960, Carol married Curtis George Hargash with whom she had her three children. Carol remarried Albert LeGrow on May 5, 1979, to whom she devoted the next 38 years of her life. The couple worked together in their own business for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Albert, her children Nancy Chandler (John), Judy Cronin (Barry) and Scott Hargash (Virginia); step-children Rick LeGrow (Karen), Darlene Maggio and Terri Pincus; grandchildren Courtney Cronin, Dale Cronin, Jackson Hargash, Elizabeth Hargash, Luke LeGrow, Kate LeGrow, Jesse LeGrow, Maryrose Pincus, Brendan Pincus, Peter Maggio and Dawn Marie Maggio; great-grandchildren Shane LeGrow, Blakely LeGrow, McKenna Baker and Grady Baker. Beloved godmother to Laurie Schlageter (Jimmy); cousins Tom Samara (Valerie) and Todd Samara.

Reposing at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY. Visitation on Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at XXXX. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River, New York.
