I was a long-time business friend of Dean, and cannot begin to overstate the positive affect he had on my life. I have had my own ad agency business for near 23 years now, and can honestly say that were it not for him, I wouldn't be in business for myself today.  I originally set up my business to be a "go between" for people to sell products on the radio, and was middleman to take the calls for my clients. My first two call centers were nightmares. MIRACULOUSLY, I not only found Messages Plus, and they made me a favorable  deal, but into my life came Dean. He taught me SO MUCH that I needed to know about my business. Made sure to find ways to save me as much money as I could, even though his company stood to make less money. Taught me better techniques to script for radio callers and better ways to upsell product. When I moved to California year ago and got a long term consulting gig, I brought him in, and can't begin to say how much he made me look good and was the most dependable person to bring me sanity and stability throughout that project.  In short, he not only saved my business at that time, but bestowed upon me knowledge that I still use to this day. I can honestly say that were it not for him, I wouldn't have had the life I've had, nor made the living I've made as an entrepreneur. I made sure to tell him that in years that followed.

It was a JOY to keep up with Dean. I've been on three game/reality shows in my life, and he made sure to watch and root for me on every one of them. We shared love of the Mets, Rock Music, and being Jewish "boychiks". We were often shocked at our similar tastes in Alternative Rock, and he was great enough to get me a bunch of MP3s I couldn't find otherwise. We FINALLY enjoyed attending a winning Mets game together in the near-Glory season of 2015, Truly, he impacted my life in So Many Positive ways, and for this "boychik", was the Essence of what a MENSCH truly is. :)

Dearest Tina and the entire family of their angel, Dean.  The world has lost another martyr to the horrors and untimely decline of a man who was in the prime of his life. Amiotropic Lateral Sclerosis has been a plague upon humanity and was swept into your lives without an invitation to cause the loss of your beloved son, spouse, father and wonderful man.  I did not personally know Dean, but his mother, Tina, is my dear friend.  Tina, what can I say?  I hope that the memorial service and celebration of his life before the scourge that beset his body, has given you some closure - blood of your blood, life of your life, may he rest in peace as the world awaits a cure for this horrific disease.  I had seen it before in my cousin's husband many years ago and know the effects that come from helplessness need to be fought with unbridled strength and belief in the will of God.  May you find comfort in always knowing that he is now watching over you, for you gave all that was humanly possible in his growth , his healthy good times, your strength during his decline, and,  finally, in your faith  in your belief in him as a forever memory.  May you now find peace as Dean has, and now his role is to help others defend themselves from being a victim.  God rest his soul and most of all - HE WAS A NOBLE MAN. Our dearest Tina, There are no words that anyone can say to you...... As a Mother you have just suffered the Worst thing in life....The loss of a child...There is nothing worse...... We know first hand what you are going through...We went through it last year...It is like an out of body experience...You know it happened but you almost feel that you are in another dimension....Please let your daughter in law and grandchildren know that we send our condolences and they will always be in our prayers.....Now Dean has become "Their" Guardian Angel....He will watch over them. Tina my friend...know that we love you so very much and we wish we could take some of the pain away....Please try and be strong my friend...They need you!!!

To Villella Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time.  Although, there is pain with his absence we remember Dean for who he is, a caring man with a wonderful sense of humor.  I still remember staying over the Villellas house as a kid and Dean cracking us up long into the night with the " D.Dean show".  He was thoughtful and warm to whomever he met.  He had an absolute love of music and he introduced me to Queen.  I will remember you Dean and will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I would like to extend my sincere heartfelt condolences to the Villella family. I didn’t know Dean personally but his beautiful daughter is very close to me and our family. I watched Sammi care for her Dad these past months with amazing devotion, and all the while studying to be a nurse. Mary and Dean have done an incredible job as parents raising such an incredible person.  She is the purest of hearts. Rest in peaceful Dean. God bless you. 

My beautiful brother, We've never needed DNA to tell us we were brothers. From the moment we met as kids we have always shared an unspoken language, a common love for music and a belief that no matter how far we strayed from each other we would always find our way back into each others lives. Now you are on another journey and I must hold the music close to me, think of you and always believe that once more, we will find each other. Until then my sweet brother, let go of your pain and let the music play for eternity!
