Deborah A. Francois
April 4, 1952 – September 21, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah A. Francois announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, age 69, in Port Jefferson, NY.
Deborah was a caring wife of the late Ronald E. Francois, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to so many. Deborah is survived by her sister Susan Manto, brother-in-law Philip Manto and nieces: Jennifer Manto, Jessica Lingafelt and her husband Chad and Sarah Korchmar and her husband Jason.
She is lovingly remembered by her great nieces and nephews, Katie and Clark Lingafelt, and Henry, Vivienne and Lawrence Korchmar.
Deborah was predeceased by her husband Ronald E. Francois, her parents, Kam and Mariah Lee, and her brother, Gregory Lee.
Deborah was born in Manhattan, New York and moved to Mt Sinai, Long Island when she was a young girl. She led a full and active life and was able to travel most of the world with some favorites being China, Jerusalem, Hawaii, Peru, Fiji, Bora Bora, Costa Rica, and Ireland. Her passion in her own words was "helping people plan their dream trip" and her purpose was connecting people through travel.
She loved the theater, especially going to shows in NYC with family and friends. One fond memory she would share is taking her great niece to see Anastasia on Broadway and consequently inspiring her love of musical theater.
Deborah was passionate about the NRA, Voting, and would regularly volunteer as an election official. She also was involved in Drum Corp with her husband Ronnie and many weekends were spent marching and performing.
Deborah began attending Long Island Baptist Church in the late 1980s and forged many friendships and relationships over the past 30 years with many of the congregation.
Deborah was devoted to her family, visiting extended family in them in or taking trips to attend special occasions. She was a collector of spices and recipes and would regularly host lavish dinner parties with friends. She loved feeding and caring for people. This same caring devotion was expressed in her work as a travel agent and also as a companion.
Deborah loved being near the ocean, looking for seaglass and shells, and sharing the best spots on the island to enjoy. She loved playing her ukelele and taking water aerobics weekly. Deborah will be forever loved and dearly missed by her family and friends.
Reposing at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY. Visitation on Thursday, October 14th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Prayer service 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Debbie was my partner with travel in Journeys Travel for many years. We spent many years together helping each other with all our various clients. We went to many travel events together, sharing lots of fun and frolic. I will miss her smile and her stories of adventure. I do hold the hope of seeing Debbie again when Jehovah God restores our earth to the paradise it was meant to be in the very near future.
