Diane D. Taxter

October 29, 1943November 11, 2021

Diane Darling Taxter, age 78, of Oceanside, New York passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Diane was born October 29, 1943 in Ozone Park, NY.

Beloved companion of Arnie Geringer. Loving mother of Kim Gialanella and her husband Michael and Michelle Ramirez and her husband Ray. Cherished grandmother of Jessica Hawkins and her husband Jonathan, Kiley Colston and her husband Tommy, Corinn Underwood and her husband Connor, Brittany Schachner and her husband Aric, Dylan Gialanella and his wife Carlie and the late Brett Gialanella. Adored great grandmother of Nolan, Hannah Claire, Adelyn, Caden, Lucy, Thomas, Ruby, Miles, Frankie, Lulu and Jack. Dear sister of Mimi Kislin and her husband Danny and Pam Weber-Vansickle.

Diane was an extremely proud Gammy and Gigi. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life - “Gigi’s joy” as she would say.

Her love for her daughter’s was fierce, as she worked hard as a single mom, always doing without, to provide for them. She instilled the values of a strong work ethic, a tidy home, and a hot meal for her family. She taught them to always take pride in themselves and their health and well being, just as she did.

For the last 12 years she was blessed to have her beloved companion, Arnie - who truly understood the meaning, “in sickness and in health or until death parts us.”

She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy - that will continue to make her proud as she lives on in each of us.

While we will miss her time with us on earth, we rejoice knowing that she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, and we will spend eternity with her.

Arrangements entrusted to O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY. A memorial visitation for Diane will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Church on the Sound, 335 Oxhead Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790. Prayer service at 8 PM. I couldn’t just narrow it down to one favorite memory of Diane who was Mom #2 to me . I was honored to have gotten to work with her.Even after she stopped working we remained extremely close. I could talk to her about anything. When my Mom got Dementia Diane was there for me ALWAYS for Anything. I know she is at Peace now and I know she will continue to watch over me along side my Mom..I will ALWAYS love and miss her. I am Blessed to have had her in my life. KAT
