Dr. Gregory T. Anderson, Ph.D.

Greg was the beloved husband of Claire for 43 wonderful years, though their love story spanned nearly five decades together. He was a devoted and loving father to Adam Anderson, Erika Anderson, Joseph Vollmer, Claire Anne Vollmer and Gregory J. Anderson (Kristen). He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Madison, who brought him immense joy and companionship.

He is also survived by his brother, Scott Anderson and predeceased by his parents, Lt. Col Walter B. Anderson, USAF and Dr. Dorothy J. Anderson, Ph.D. and his brother, Bruce Anderson and sister, Jeanne A. Bewersdorff.

Greg had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on his favorite team, the New York Giants. He loved swimming, engaging in conversation—he truly could talk to anyone—and savoring a good cup of coffee. Above all, Greg cherished his family. His bond with his granddaughter Madison was especially close; the two shared many special moments watching football together, and she delighted in making him coffee.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Greg’s life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. A prayer service will be held at 3:00 PM.

Greg will be remembered for his warmth, his gift for conversation, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew him.
