Bart was suave and sophisticated, adored Maryanne, enjoyed the good things in life - and equally enjoyed sharing those good things with others. We've known Bart and Maryanne since the early 1980s in N.J. and he introduced us to St. Barts's. One early morning there he appeared on our porch with a hot loaf of bread he had just gotten for us. I still recall its aroma. Some before me said he was a class act and how true that is. He has left a big void in the lives of family and friends. RIP Bart.

Bart was my mentor and friend. I met him while taking a CLU class in Los Angeles, CA., in 1976. Since then, we became working colleagues and friends. We shared experiences of raising our children and changes in our life. He was not only a friend but a sounding board and advisor for 45 years. In exchanges, his Spanish eyes would glisten and smile with encouragement. I will miss him dearly, but know I will see him again.

Bart and his family - Maryanne, Michael, Donna, and Lori - were my extended family, living next door to mine on Setting Sun Drive. Their collective love was so strong, under Bart’s big heart, that I always had a North Star near by. Stay strong family. My heart beats with yours.

My godfather meant the world to me. Bart and Maryanne’s guidance and advice over the last 45 years shaped me into the gentleman I hope I have become, and hope to make them proud.

Ed was a class act and gentleman. He also had a great sense of humor.

He served Met Life with distinction.
