Sixty years after his discharge, Congressman Tim Bishop was instrumental in obtaining awards and medals that Ed had not previously received for his military service and sacrifice.

He was a Melvin Jones recipient, and just recently, was honored with a Leadership Award – given by the LIONS Governors; but was too ill to attend the festivities.
