

Born on December 19, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Eileen was the daughter of the late John J. Coates and Rita Coates (née Canavan). She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and later made her home in Mount Sinai, New York, where she and her husband, Anthony, raised their family.
Eileen was the devoted wife of Anthony Cresci, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. She was the dear mother of Michael (Kerry), David (Sara), and Joann. She was an adored grandmother to William, Jack, and Rebecca, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
Eileen was a beloved sister to James Coates, who preceded her in death, William Coates, and Edward Coates. She was a cherished sister-in-law to Melinda Coates, Patricia Coates, and Carol Coates.
Eileen was an amazing mother who cared for her family with strength, devotion, and a deep commitment to creating a loving and structured home. Her family was always at the center of her life, and she had an exceptional gift for making holidays and family gatherings special—especially Christmas. The traditions and memories she created will remain treasured by her family for generations.
As a grandmother, Eileen delighted in playing board games, reading, laughing, and being silly with her grandchildren. She gave them the wonderful gifts of her time, attention, and unconditional love, creating a very special bond that they will always carry with them.
Eileen enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a special education teacher’s aide in the Mount Sinai School District. Through her patience, kindness, and compassion, she helped shape the lives of hundreds of students over the years. Her work was much more than a profession; it reflected her natural ability to care for others and make each person feel valued.
Eileen was also a dear and loyal friend to many. She touched the lives of all who knew her in a meaningful and lasting way. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, kindness, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes at 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY, 11766 on Thursday, July 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24 at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes. The funeral service and committal will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
