Eileen Gersbeck on January 28, 2021 of Port Jefferson Station , Long Island. Beloved wife of the late Charles J. Gersbeck. Loving mother of Maureen O’Brien and her husband William III; Charles Gersbeck and his wife Dianne; Eugene Gersbeck and his wife Jill; Gerard Gersbeck and his wife Katie; and the late Charles James and Dennis Gersbeck. Cherished grandmother of Elyse Loiacono and her husband Jason; Bryan Gersbeck and his wife Dori; Aubrie Gersbeck; Megan Gersbeck; Peter Gersbeck; Emily Gersbeck; William O'Brien IV; Erin O'Brien; James Gersbeck, Margaret Gersbeck, Abigayle Gersbeck and Kevin Gersbeck. Adored great grandmother of Christopher and Charlotte Loiacono. Loving sister of Helen Vrana and Lorraine Loughlin.

In 1956, Eileen graduated from Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing. For the next 8 years she worked at various local hospitals while starting her family. In 1964 she accepted a position at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson and stayed for 34 years. For 32 years, Eileen worked as an Emergency Room nurse eventually taking on the position as Nursing Care Coordinator of the Emergency Department. In 1994 Eileen earned her baccalaureate degree from St Joseph’s College in Patchogue, Long Island. In her 34 years of service at St. Charles Hospital, Eileen often expressed her tremendous professional and personal satisfaction inherent in emergency nursing and management.

Eileen was a kind hearted, compassionate woman who was loved by her family, friends and colleagues and will be greatly missed.
