

Germania Diaz, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 20, 1931, in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Germania’s life was a testament to her deep faith and boundless love for those around her.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 53 years, Vigilio Diaz. Germania leaves behind her devoted children, Corina Diaz and her husband, Pedro Santiago; Rafael Diaz; and Edith Ambra. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lucia Diaz.
Germania was a devoted grandmother to Annaiz Diaz, Raffael Diaz, Juan Diaz and his wife Angelica, David Ambra, and was predeceased by her grandson Daniel Diaz. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Zianna Diaz, Gabriella Diaz, Daniel Diaz Jr., Joel Diaz, Gianna Ambra, Elliot Ambra, and Dario Diaz.
A deeply religious woman, Germania was an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus group, where she devoted her time to praying for and visiting the sick. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and would often attended church three times a week.
Germania found joy in dancing when she was able and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Germania’s life will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Funeral mass on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11 AM at Infant Jesus RC Church, 110 Myrtle Ave, Port Jefferson, New York 11777. Committal service and entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 Route 112, Coram, New York 11727.
