Giovanna Coppola

Giovanna Rasile Coppola, 80, of Howard Beach, NY, passed on 22 November 2013. She was born in Tufo di Minturno, Italy in 1933. She earned her degree in medicine from the University of Naples Federico II. She and her husband, Dr Antonio Coppola, emigrated to the United States in 1960. Giovanna held various positions of increasing responsibility throughout her distinguished career culminating as Chair, Department of Rehabilitation at the Long Island College Hospital. She was devoted to her family and friends, she served in the United States Army Reserve, and donated to many charities. Giovanna is survived by her two sons, Marco and Paolo, and four grandchildren, Giovanna, Antonio, Marco, Luca. Friends may visit and pay respects at O.B Davis Funeral Home, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, today from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass at Infant Jesus RC Church at 10am on Monday. Internment to follow, St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Giovanna Rasile Coppola, memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, stjude.org
