It is with deepest sorrow that I send my condolences to Cynthia,Joan and Mark upon hearing of the passing of their beloved mother Lucy.
I was privileged to be able to call her Mom and share so many Thanksgivings, Christmas's and holidays with her.
She leaves a legacy of love both in her children and the many people she touched as friends an patients including myself.
When my Grandfather died the priest said in his eulogy that "when you die all you take with you are your good deeds".
Mom you certainly will be wealthy beyond compare in heaven with all the good deeds you will be taking with you and we certainly will be that much poorer for your being gone.

I loved my mother with all my heart. 

Throughout my life my mom would tell me how much she loved me, how much she believed in me as a person.  She always made me feel that no matter what I was going through I was a good person inside. 

I honestly don't know how I would have survived the things that have happened to me in recent years without her words so deeply felt within me. 

February 14, 2018 started out like any other day.   It was Valentine's Day and no big deal for me. 

My wife had become use to my lack of enthusiasm for this day.   

But halfway through my work-day I started to think about her.  I thought how she deserved to be treated special on this day.  Out of impulse, I cancelled my evening sessions and decided to head home early. My intention was to pick up some flowers, special treats and surprise her. 

As I was heading north on the 110 freeway my sister in NY called me to inform me my mother had just died.  

I continued to drive, thinking I was going to still get the flowers and treats for my wife....  but as the reality of the situation set in I found myself frozen and instead pulled up my driveway to my house. 
I sat there with my head down and cried.   I was crying because I missed my mom and I was also letting down my wife.  I couldn't move, felt I had nowhere to go. 

At that moment she pulled into the driveway.   I tried to be gentle as I told her the news.

She cried too.   

Then I told her I was sorry, as I wanted to bring her flowers but was unable to.

We just hugged and cried together.  

I miss my mom.  She was my muse.  My friend.  She was and continues to be my inspiration.  

I use to call her up and we would discuss clinical cases together.  Yes, my mother was, among many other things, a great psychotherapist.   We would talk about counter-transference and interventions. 

Sometimes my mom would just tell me how much she loved and cherished me. 

I miss you Mom but will hold your spirit within me.

Lucy Allison was my neighbor and the mother of my sister-friends "the twins," Cindy and Joan, whom I have known since early childhood. Her son Mark was also my brothers' friend.  Lucy was a uniquely inspirational woman. She possessed an effortless, regal grace which, combined with her natural charm, empathy and sociability, made her a people magnet and a born therapist. She was enthusiastically invested in her community, her career and her family, which always included furry, four-legged members. She had a keen intellect and later in life exhibited the maturity and wisdom of her years while retaining a perennially youthful delight in the many wonders of the world around her. My husband and I share a wonderful last memory of her enjoying a delicious meal that Cindy had prepared for us, including a big glass of wine. She was characteristically smart, beautiful,energetic--and perfectly coiffed and dressed.  Her sense of style was always impeccable, but her sense of purpose even greater. She lived her life with quiet strength, faith and real appreciation of every day granted to her. She was an exceptional role model for me and my family and she will be dearly missed. 

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your dear Mother. Our memories of Lucy were kind and loving. Sincere  and true, she loved life and will always be remembered. May God give you the strength and courage to get through the days ahead.

I want to say it was an honor and privilege to know your mother. In life you meet many people, but there are only a few that always bring a smile to your face when you think of them. Your mom was one of those people. If you are ' one of those people you will know what I'm talking about. Lucy was one of a kind. My only regret is that I didn't meet her sooner. I will miss her and talking with her and most of all her wisdom. Rest in peace sweet Lucy

My beautiful precious mother, I love you so much💗. You are a gift from God and it was an honor and privilege to have you as my mother and best friend. You gave your heart and soul to so many. You touched countless lives and made them better which is why they all love you so much. I have told you from the time I was 18 years old to now that if I could be half of the woman you are, I would consider myself a success. Everyone you encountered ,even animals, were blessed by you. You were Leah's beloved "Nana" and she was your faithful and beloved grand dog.                                              Thank you for your final gift to me. You told me you prayed every night  for me to finally find the love of my life and best friend ....like you had with Dad.  Your prayer was answered and I thank God you were able to witness  and share in our relationship...As you  and Ron would laugh  together and express your love for each other. It meant the world to me... and to us. Although  you are in Heaven with Dad ,the Love of your life, Heaven now has another  Angel, but here on earth, it is  a little darker without your guiding light. I know you will always be here in our hearts and still guiding us from above.
