I Miss Madeline. She was a pioneer in everything she did. Her Irish diplomacy
made you truly look forward the trip. Her Hearty bear-like laugh when we were  out of control. All her wisdom she had and tried to pass onto me, "Oh Linda,for Chriss Sakes!!lol..Happy belated Birthday !!!I miss you sooo much.

It has been one year that our dearest neighbor and friend has passed.....nothing is the same around here without her, we miss her so much,I loved our talks and she loved her flowers, it is so different now, We wish she was still here sometimes I feel she is..I feel she is watching over us, she was the most caring, giving person I know. We loved her dearly. We miss you so much, we will never forget you our dear friend. Love you always, oh and George is taking good care of Fir Ct as the Captain..not to worry.. xoxo

Forever grateful for her words of wisdom, passion of life, love of family, My Aunt Madeline was a courageous woman who shared her past, her humor, and her love for our benefit. She was part of the Greatest Generation and is with Mom and Dad now in a far better place.
Her introduction to my darling wife, Sonia, (blind date), at her home in 1970  secured my happiness. We celebrate 37 years of marriage this coming August. For my daughters, Maylisa and Kelley Jean, they know the story. For my grand children Genevieve, Jacques, Liam, and Clara, they will come to understand. For we are all part of the story… I often think about her remarkable ability to overcome the suffering of losing a love one, Uncle John, Christopher, Dad, Uncle Bill , Mom, …and she continued to endure by offering encouragement one moment, sharing a memory  and humor the next. It was sustaining for all of us. Despite her difficult fight with cancer, she remained with us longer than any member of our immediate family. This was truly God's intention. She was a survivor. 
Thank you, Aunt Madeline for sharing your life with us. In my conversations with you, I developed a passion to know more about our family and our past. In your memory, I am committed to finding the birthplace of the McGrath family in Ireland and the path taken by our ancestor's and to share it with our family and friends.

Dear Aunt Madeline, We will miss you dearly. You were a great woman and indeed one of a kind. I remember my last phone conversation with you was on my wife's(Teryls) birthday and you asked me to buy a drink for her from you and that you would pay me next time you saw me. Well we will meet again someday and you can pay me then. I will miss our dinner night's out with you Alyce & Ter at the El Mariachi restaurant with our margaritas in hand and the El Mariachi band playing at our table. God Bless you. Phil

Ter, I think that she learned to toast "Chin Chin" when she visited my grandparents in Marseille, France with Pat :) 
She loved talking to me about that trip and also about the time she worked with my Dad and Pat in 1951... Little did I know that she would later introduce this French / Americano girl to the love of my life...Her beloved godson...
A Grande Dame, who had the art of story telling like few others.... 
I will remember her mostly for her tremendous love of family. 
I close my eyes and I see her up there surrounded by her loved ones, especially John, Chrissy, her brother Tom and Jeanne and it makes me smile.

How do i start and where do i end to describe such a unique indivdual as my Aunt Madline?...those of us who were lucky enough to have her touch our hearts and our lives will understand the loss and void we will feel forever without her ......i will honor all she taught me and share her wisdom,passion,thoughtfulness ,strength ,storytelling and humor always......she was most proud of her family and i feel so fortunate to be included in her world.  I will miss my visits with her more than i can say now and like my parents before her i will keep her alive in my heart forever. Madeline was our neighbor for 10 yrs she was the most loving, caring, dearest most wonderful friend she was like a Mother to us....she loved my children and grandchilden she was so giving to them, we adored her, she is with the other angels now we will miss her soo much and it will never be the same without her.
