Margaret Kopp, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024 at the age of 96. Margaret was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1928, the daughter of Albert and Karolina Haefner.
Margaret was a devoted wife to her late husband Eric for 47 years, until his passing. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric & his wife Theresa and Paul & his wife Laura, who were the pride and joy of her life. Margaret's family was her greatest treasure.
Margaret was adored by her grandchildren and their spouses and her great-grandson. She leaves behind three grandsons; Eric II & his wife Natalie, Blake and Trevor Kopp, two granddaughters; Amanda Kopp-Ulanoff & her husband Maximilian Ulanoff and Lindsay Rukenbrod & her husband Paul, and one great-grandson; Andrew Kopp, all of whom brought immense joy and happiness into her life.
In addition to her dedication to her family, Margaret had a passion for gardening and enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden, which bloomed with colors and fragrances that mirrored her vibrant spirit. She found solace in the tranquility of nature and took great pleasure in feeding the birds that visited her garden.
Margaret's kitchen was always filled with the aroma of freshly baked treats. Her apple cake was renowned among her loved ones, but it was her Christmas cookies that truly captured the hearts of all who tasted them. Each year, family and friends eagerly awaited the arrival of Margaret's delectable creations, which were made with love and care, embodying the warmth and generosity of her spirit.
Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation to celebrate Margaret's life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 4-8 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment private.
Margaret will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
