Pete was a devoted husband to the late Violet "Millie" Vento for 57 years. He was a dedicated father to his three children; Peter, James and Marie Yevoli and also a loving grandfather to Shawn Vento and to Bobby & Jared Yevoli. Pete always put family first and seldom complained about anything. He just did and not just talked.
Born in Brooklyn as Pietro Vento to Vincenzo Vento & Marie Vinci. Pete proudly served our country during WWII in the US Navy aboard the USS Antietam (CV-36) where he spent time in Pearl Harbor, Manila, Okinawa, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Guam. In 1964, Pete moved his family from Brooklyn to settle and live for 47 years in Terryville. Pete was a respected man of solid principles. A man's man of few, but meaningful words of wisdom. Simply put; he knew the score. He retired from PepsiCo in 1988 after 33 years of employment with the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Long Island City.
His passions were his family, listening to Jazz, Swing, making home made soup and yes, OTB within reason. He will be forever missed by his children, family and friends.
