I am so sorry to hear of Ray's passing. We dated for awhile back in the 80's and he was always so good-natured and honest.  I was a bit younger that he, and he always "looked out" for me. He always made time for me when I needed a friend. One day, years after we stopped seeing each other, I was in a bad way and needed a friend. On a whim, I sent a note with the UPS guy who delivered to my job to give to Ray, who was working for UPS then. I didn't really expect a reply, but the very next morning, Ray called me. We met for lunch that day, and he listened to me and gave me some good advice.Ray was truly a good soul. The word integrity comes to mind, and that is a virtue that has become so rare in society these days. Peace, Raymond, you will always be in my thoughts.

I just found about Ray's passing from a mutual friend.  My deepest sympathy to Ray's parents and family.  Ray was a co-worker at Jones Beach for many years.  He was a "true" friend and an overall great guy.

I will always remember Ray as my first introduction to Jones Beach Theatre. We went on to become friends and then co-workers. He was one of the sweetest, happiest guys I've known. He could always put a smile on my face. Although I hadn't see him for a while, he will always be in my heart.

To All:  I am so very sorry for your loss.  I knew Raymond for many years, a co worker, and a dear friend.  He is in my prayers, and each of you as well.  I look forward to seeing him again on the other side.

Myself and my family send our deepest condolences to Ray's family.  Ray was a friend and mentor in my early days in the Melville Fire Department. After he left the fire department I will never forget hearing his voice over the megaphone at the Jones Beach Theater giving people direction and making them laugh as they walked in to the concerts. I was very surprised when I saw the announcement of Ray's passing in the paper today.  And then tonight I checked my e-mail (don't do that very often) and there is another announcement from the Smoke Signals newsletter (which I don't read too often either).  And a final unfortunate irony, Ray and my sister Delia dated way back in the late 70's/early 80's.  We also lost Delia, suddenly, in January of this year.  Both too young with fiery spirits (as I remember) From one family to another, just know that their spirit will always be with those who have known and loved them.

LOSING A CHILD IS NEVER EASY.  TO OUR COUSIN RAY.  YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.  HELPFUL, FUNNY, IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS VERY COURAGEOUS, LOVING AND GIVING.  WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU RAY.

It comes with great sadness finding out about Ray's passing earlier this morning.  Ray was an amazing man, a visionary, a great friend, and a beautiful person.  He enlightened us with his wisdom, knowledge, and committment to life's enjoyment.  Today we lost a glowing light of happiness but heaven gained a true leader of the way things are meant to be.  I will truely miss you Ray.  When it is my time to check out I look forward to seeing you on the other side.  Until then my friend, thanks for your smile and laughter.
