Feeding nephew James with Rose and Johnny.

Carolyn and Hunter loved when you visited with us in Virginia!

Aunt Anna’s 60th Jubilee in Tarrytown NY.

Enjoying the day with Murphy by your side!

I knew Rose from where she resided over the last few years. She was a lovely lady. Very sweet, and always looked so nice and put together. I had many pleasant exchanges with her, as well as nice conversations. I will miss her.
Sincerest condolences to her family and daughter Theresa, who I had the pleasure of dealing with many times.
May she rest in peace

My beautiful Grandmother, Rose. 🤍🪽

In her blonde hair, a whisper of grey,
Yet laughter still sparkled like sunlit spray.
With blue-eyed mischief, gentle and bright,
Rose filled every room with warmth and light.

Ninety-seven years, a life richly blessed,
Surrounded by love - she gave her best.
Through moon landings and sock hop nights,
She waltzed through the decades with grace and delight.

From Long Island City, a bright young Rose,
With dreams in her heart and compassion she chose.
At Leon & Eddie’s, John got down on one knee,
Beginning a love that was meant to be.
From Lorenz to Lionetti, her story took flight,
Rooted in family, in love, and in light.

In Commack she built a life full and true,
A home filled with laughter, where love only grew.
Five children’s chaos, a joyful sound,
With grandkids and greats all gathered around.

Her love for her cats…..a purr-fect tale,
Their antics made her laughter sail.
Her heart was a treasure, simple and sweet,
With a fondness for treats that made life complete.
And in quiet moments, a glass raised just right,
A little Dewar’s Scotch warming the end of the night.
A cigarette in hand - just a playful display,
She never did quite inhale, smoke just drifted away.

And always, with John, her partner, her guide,
Through thick and thin, right there by her side.
A love that endured, steadfast and true,
Now Heaven has brought them together anew.
After decades apart, their hands intertwined,
A reunion of souls - timeless, divine.

Like that old summer wind, her memory stays,
Soft as a song from those golden days.
And oh, her spirit - the Queen of Sass,
Ninety-seven years, forever first class.

So we lift our hearts, not only in tears,
But in thanks for her love through all of these years.
For now she’s with John, in perfect light -
Together again, at peace, and bright. 🤍

To my cousins,

I remember Aunt Rose as the loving caring, strong and practical former nurse that she was, with her warm smile and twinkle in her eyes. Although she was practical and strong as nurses tend to be, she was also extremely tender.

I recall in particular the empathy and concern she demonstrated when one of big cousin Jonnie’s friends came to the house late one evening when I and my brothers were spending the night with her and Uncle John. Johnnie’s friend, who was extremely allergic to poison ivy, was exposed to smoke from a neighbor who was burning yard waste, including poison ivy and he was experiencing significant symptoms. Aunt Rose sprang into action and took charge, helping return him to comfort with grace and ease. Her concern for him was obvious and she provided the care he needed with compassion and calm.

She showed no less compassion when a kitten would wonder away from its mother. To my childhood memory she was however, less composed because, I think, the kitten was alone and not within reach of her help.

Aunt Rose’s ability to share her emotions allowed us all the pleasure of seeing and feeling her kindness and her love, which were never greater than that which flowed towards Uncle John and my five cousins. I know they will miss her and hopefully will take comfort knowing she is at rest in heaven with Uncle John, her mother and other departed family and friends.

Some thought-filled reflections &
       memories of a Special Individual...

Whose inimitable memory, in my mind, will always remain as a stalwart & indefatigable Aunt of great merit

She consistently encompassed a most nurturing, loving, attractive &
generous Spirit towards all those who crossed her path --- literally, down the legendary Commack 'pathway'!

From the perspective of a nephew, it was clearly obvious that RJL -- who made a great Team w Uncle John -- dutifully took her myriad of roles within life quite seriously, EVEN when harmoniously singing a classic tune within the kitchen while cleaning, or keeping current (via her ongoing NY DailyNews delivery subscription of yore)

Aunt Rose never let any of us kids leave the house hungry (or even without a summer pool swim) amidst our frequent drop-by's during those fun-filled formative years

~ BRAVO to a beloved Aunt, who genuinely lived LIFE to the fullest, as a True & Trusted servant of the Lord through selfless benificence to others ~

I’m sad that I’ll never get to spend more time with my grandmother, never get to hear more of her stories (about her crazy roommates, or how she met Joe Namath that time.) I’m sad that she’ll never have dinner at our house again, and that I won’t be able to paint her nails one more time (always pink). I know I’ll never be able to do those things with her again, but I’ll always be left with the memory of my grandmother who was always warm, kind, and always had a sense of humor. I’m so glad that I was able to have that time with her, and it helped me become who I am today. I will continue to make my grandma proud, and continue to keep her memory alive by remaining kind and compassionate to those in my life.

My Dear Grandma -She had a story for every moment and a warmth that filled every room. Fun, kind, and endlessly sweet, she made life brighter just by being in it. Every animal she met seemed to know it too. Her love for animals wasn’t just affection it was bond that needed no words.

Over the years we both enjoyed chatting over coffee and cake ( crumb cake, coffee cake, cinnamon cake). I will miss the small moments where she listened to me and I will miss her stories new and old. The ones of her being a Nurse which she told to my children often. The stories of Grandpa
In Japan and writing notes to each other, just to name a few.

Heaven has surely gained an Angel

Love,
Christine

In Loving Memory of My Dear Grandma (Nana)

My grandmother had a heart full of love and a way of sharing it with everyone around her. She was the best storyteller I’ve ever known, and her stories will stay with me forever.

She found joy in the simple, beautiful things; her family, her pets, a good book, and her coffee with something sweet. She cherished time spent together, and those moments are memories I will always hold close.

Being with her always felt warm and meaningful. Seeing her happiness, through my children’s eyes (Cara and Christopher), brought so much joy to me.

She carried a deep love for Grandpa throughout her life, and I find peace in knowing they are together again. Grandma is also reunited with my Dad, I know she’s telling him all about my children.

Her love, her spirit, and her memory will live on in all of us.

Forever loved and deeply missed

A beautiful and loving Mother to my wife, an adoring Grandmother to my children and a generous and accepting Mother-in-Law whose gentleness and warmth embraced me into her family. I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. You will be missed by us all.
