Saverio F. Verni

Saverio was the devoted father of Andrea (Mark) Wilson and Lisa (Peter) VanMiddelem. He was the cherished grandfather of Cory Wilson, Emily Tabor, Jenna, Hannah and Jacob VanMiddelem, Taylor, Gillian, Cameron and Kyle Verni and the proud great-grandfather of Edith and Eliza.

A man of many passions and boundless creativity, Saverio was an accomplished artist who found joy and expression in watercolor painting and architectural design. He was also an avid sailor who found peace on the water, spending countless joyful hours with his beloved sailboats. He was also in the Jaycees and the Three Village Theatre Group as part of the ensemble and set design. Saverio was also in the Glee Club at Pratt Institue.

Saverio brought people together wherever he went. He founded a men’s scooter club that reflected his fun-loving spirit and sense of adventure. He was a talented cook who loved preparing his mother’s traditional recipes and experimenting with new ones. A lifelong learner and thinker, Saverio was also an avid reader who never stopped exploring the world through books.

Above all, Saverio was a man deeply devoted to his family. He was a constant source of love, wisdom, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, and he will be remembered always with love and gratitude.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY, 11776, on October 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A committal service with military honors will take place at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY, 11792, on October 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
